Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

We came at brunch time and It was busy but the service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious, the dessert was to die for and the tea was so soothing. The live music being played was a lovely touch. I’m so grateful.

Sunday High Tea at The Living Room in The Peninsula Beverly Hills is an absolute must. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance—it is incredibly sophisticated and luxurious, yet it manages to feel wonderfully intimate and relaxing. The quality of both the food and the tea is outstanding. Every finger sandwich, warm scone, and delicate pastry was flawlessly prepared, and the tea selection was exquisite. A truly phenomenal and elegant afternoon experience!

Had a wonderful birthday celebration at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, high tea service! Located in the living room, this is the best tea service in LA by far. Reservations are required and the experience has a 2 hr limit. It all starts with a glass of champagne or rosée and a whip cream, strawberry amuse bouche. The waiters are super well versed in describing teas and pastries. You get to select one tea alongside your tower of sandwiches and desserts. Clotted cream, jam and lemon curd are also served from your scones that come warm and fresh. Each person gets their own tower and it’s plenty to eat. The sandwich selection includes cucumber and cream cheese, salmon and caviar, roast beef and an egg sandwich. The cakes and cookies are delicate and delicious . The experience ends with a peninsula Bundt cake topped by a white chocolate peninsula hat! All around a great time and great experience for a Saturday / Sunday afternoon. Also valet is free!
